Dispense Valve Model 525

The 525 is used for heated applications up to 400°F (205°C) which require large reservoirs made form stainless steel, or a heated valve that can be located remote from the reservoir. The system consists of four separate, but integrated, elements: Heated reservoir of 1, 2 (2 gallon is standard), 5, 10 gallon or larger capacity; Heated feed line; Heated valve with integral flow control; Valve controller. Each of the three heated components has its own temperature control.

Operation

UNACTUATED - When the user-supplied 3-way normally closed valve is off, the pinching surface of the spring loaded piston prevents flow by collapsing the tube. The patented pinch stop adjusting screw limits tube stress and provides a fixed start position for the piston. This control greatly extends the tube life and insures shot to shot repeatability.

ACTUATED - When the user-supplied 3-way valve is on, air moves the pinch piston back to the adjustable micrometer stop. This controls the amount the tube opens, which, in turn, controls the flow rate of the fluid. This action, combined with the nozzle size (if a nozzle is used) and the time the 455 valve is open, governs the amount of fluid that is dispensed.

The operator sets the temperature controls to obtain optimum viscosity characteristics, and then sets the dispense controller to adjust the application volume.

When the operator closes the cycle start switch, the patented valve, which has its own flow adjustment, opens a controlled amount for a precise, adjustable time. This action allows an exact, repeatable amount of fluid to be dispensed from the constantly pressurized reservoir.

The manual mode operation allows material to be dispensed for intervals at the operators discretion. The operator has separate temperature controls for the 3 elements. Standard reservoir is 2 gallons (7.6 liters).
